In order to develop a plan that is responsive to local needs, input from the public is essential. There will be two public workshops held to discuss the public draft.

The Ventura County Transportation Commission (VCTC), in cooperation with Naval Base Ventura County (NBVC), local jurisdictions, agencies and organizations in the region, has prepared a Joint Land Use Study (JLUS) to address compatibility planning around NBVC, including NBVC Point Mugu, NBVC Port Hueneme, and NBVC San Nicolas Island. The goal of the JLUS is to reduce current and potential compatibility issues between NBVC and surrounding areas while accommodating new growth and economic development, sustaining economic vitality, protecting public health and safety, and sustaining the operational missions of NBVC and the Point Mugu Sea Range.
